• Control and Monitoring in Reconfigurable Batteries
• Potential and Challenges for Reconfigurable Batteries
• Modular High-Current Electronics
The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Stephan M. Goetz and Nima Tashakor who have experience in the field of energy storage and conversion systems.
Stephan M. Goetz received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from TU Munich, Germany. He obtained doctoral training at TU Munich as well as Columbia University and received a Ph.D. degree with a thesis on medical applications of power electronics. He is currently head of the Institute of Mechatronics and Electric Drives at RPTU. He is also an assistant professor at Duke and Cambridge Universities. His research interests include precise high-power pulse synthesizers for magnetic neurostimulation and noninvasive brain stimulation as well as integrative power electronics solutions for microgrids and electric vehicle applications.
Nima Tashakor earned his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Isfahan University in Isfahan, Iran, in 2013, followed by his M.Sc. degree in the same field from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran, in 2015. In 2022, he completed his Ph.D. with distinction at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is currently the Lab Director of the Mechatronic and Drives Institute at RPTU and a senior Postdoc at Duke University. His primary research interests lie in power electronics and energy storage systems. Additionally, he explores the applications of machine learning within this field.
